Chatsworth cops swoop down on drugs

A joint operation between members of the SAPS and Metro Police this week, lead to a major bust or a drug-processing lab in lie Marianridge area.

According to police, the bust comes alter months of gathering information and observing the premises. They recovered 1.2 kg of heroine powder, 12 000 straws of heroin, 700 ecstasy tablets and 20g of tik. The approximate value of the drugs was R1.5 million. The investigation started in Chatsworth where information was received of a suspected high-flying "sugars" supplier.

Information from members of the public enabled the investigators to identify the suspect's modus operandi.
